This semi-flexible 130W solar panel kit is designed for permanent outdoor use, providing free electricity to charge 12V batteries for various applications, including motorhomes, caravans, campers, boats, solar lighting systems, and off-grid or backup solar power systems.

130W Black Narrow Semi-Flexible Fiberglass Solar Panel
This robust black narrow semi-flexible solar panel, reinforced with fiberglass plastic, is made from strong ETFE material, which has a longer lifespan compared to standard semi-flexible panels. As a result, these panels are exceptionally durable and resistant to cracking, delamination, and corrosion. The lightly textured surface provides an anti-reflective quality, allowing for greater light absorption and increased efficiency. ETFE has been used in applications requiring durability and high-temperature resistance, such as in the Eden Project in Cornwall.
The panel features advanced 5-busbar solar cells, which are more efficient than the traditional 2, 3, or 4 busbar cells found in most other panels, enabling it to extract more power from the same surface area. This results in a more compact panel, making it ideal for applications with limited space.
With its unique black backing, this panel is perfect for discreet and aesthetically pleasing installations on dark-colored roofs, vehicles, or mounting surfaces. Please note that the panel is not "ultra jet-black," and the exact shade may vary slightly between panels due to differences in the solar cell batch.
The semi-flexible design allows for installation on curved roofs and surfaces where bonding is preferred, although it can also be secured with bolts or screws. Its narrow shape (only 505mm wide) is ideal for applications with space constraints or obstructions on the roof. Weighing just 2.38kg, it is an excellent choice for all vehicle applications and is highly resistant to saltwater environments. Additionally, it can be walked on, making it suitable for boats and yachts.
The panel comes with 2 x 1m cables (4mm² cross-section) fitted with MC4 connectors, which easily connect to the 5m extension solar cable included in the kit to link the solar panel to the charge controller.
10A Solar Charge Controller
The kit includes a 10A 12V/24V Photonic Universe solar charge controller designed to protect and charge batteries, featuring automatic cut-off to prevent overcharging and deep discharging. Utilizing PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology, it enhances charge acceptance and prolongs battery life, often recovering some lost battery capacity.
This controller prevents reverse current at night (from the battery back to the solar panel), ensuring that your battery retains its charge. It includes numerous protection features such as overcharge/discharge, overload, short circuit, and overheating.
The LCD display provides real-time information on solar panel and battery performance, including voltage, current, battery state of charge, and battery temperature. An energy statistics counter displays accumulated daily and monthly charge values, which is useful for comparing solar panel performance over different periods.
Additionally, this solar charge controller features a dual USB charging output with a total combined output of 2.4A, allowing for fast charging of USB-compatible devices like mobile phones, tablets, and MP3 players.
You can also connect a 12V load (e.g., lighting or fans) directly to the solar charge controller, with various settings for nighttime lighting applications. The controller offers multiple charging programs for different battery types, easily selectable by the user. It includes a built-in temperature sensor and terminals for connecting a remote temperature sensor, which can be attached directly to the battery for more precise temperature measurement and optimized charging.

The kit also includes a pair of 5m positive and negative solar extension leads (4mm² cross-section) and 5m of 4mm² dual-core battery cable fitted with a fuse, fuse holder, and 8mm ring terminals for use between the solar charge controller and your battery. This results in a total cable length of 11m (1m + 5m + 5m) between the solar panel and the battery.
